Crisan is a Research Scientist in the Basic Research and Technology Development group at KAO European Research Laboratory, Darmstadt, Germany. He is also an invited Professor of Wool Chemistry at University “Haute Alsace” located in Mulhouse, France. Crisan completed his undergraduate work in Chemical Engineering and earned a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry. He has worked for more than 30 years in the fields of physics and chemistry of polymers and fibrous proteins, textile chemistry, and kinetics of solid-state processes. Crisan has authored more than 100 scientific publications and several patents, wrote or contributed to more than 15 books and monographs, and gave about 40 invited presentations. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and the International Confederation for Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (ICTAC, ) where he serves as Chairman of the ICTAC Scientific Commission.
