Dr. Babu Varghese is currently Senior Scientist and Project Leader at the Biomedical Systems Division of Philips Research, the Netherlands. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Optics from the Biophysical Engineering Group of University of Twente, the Netherlands. His current research interests include biomedical applications of light scattering, light-skin tissue interaction, and optical skin diagnosis. He has co-authored 24 scientific manuscripts in peer-reviewed international journals, 43 patent filings, 2 chapters in books, and 24 international conference proceedings.
