Job Description
Lucina MD is a newly formed wellness company focusing on pregnant women and baby-safe products. Lucina MD is developing skincare and cosmetic products that are all natural and have no side effects for the mother and baby. Lucina MD is looking for a consultant to perfect its recipes for all its skincare products. The products range from essential oil blends to body scrubs, body lotion, lip balm, to foundation, BB and CC creams, as well as anti-aging products. This is a 1099 consulting position.
Job Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be involved in research, development, and testing of the products. He/she will work with the Lucina MD team to offer expertise in developing the ideal blend, needs to understand the formation of chemical bonds between substances, the properties of emulsions, or research into the development of new polymers or other novel materials for use in cosmetics. The ideal blend which will make it to production will be all natural, have a specific healing quality (i.e. lavender cream for relaxation,) and have a long term shelf life.
Required Skills
10-15 years’ experience in cosmetic product development from research to product manufacturing. Experience in all natural products. Experience in essential oil and aromatherapy field. Knowledge of FDA regulations for natural and organic product.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Graduate degree with specialization in specific area related to cosmetics such as polymers, colors, emulsions, and surfactants, is a plus.
